The Yeppoon community is the perfect place to live, work and raise a family. Shops and schools are only a few minutes away, and for the things that are outside of this area (including an Airport) Rockhampton is only 40 minutes away.
Out and about
Throughout the area there are picnic tables and playgrounds, restful areas to sit and watch the sea or covered areas to host family gatherings, parties or birthdays. There is always a new place to visit and enjoy the outdoors.
Yeppoon Lagoon
Weekends are never boring when we have the Yeppoon Lagoon as the jewel in the crown of Yeppoon’s newest additions. The fabulous 2,500 square-metre resort style lagoon pool is located right on the beach front and includes a shallow children’s play area, an informal lap swimming area and a swim-up infinity edge with stunning views over to the Keppel Islands.
The surrounding parklands include barbecues and shaded areas which are great for picnics or a relaxing way to while away an afternoon with stunning views under the tropical foliage. Keep it a small family gathering or a family reunion – space is plentiful.
Entry to the Lagoon is free and is patrolled Monday to Sunday including Public Holidays.
Two aquatic wheelchairs are available for use for children and adults at the Lagoon upon request, simply ask one of the friendly lifeguards on duty or inquire at the duty manager’s office.
The Keppel Kraken
Taking pride of place on the Yeppoon Foreshore is the water play feature – Keppel Kraken which has become a popular attraction for our younger families. It is quite unlike any other, with a mythical sea creature centrepiece and set against the spectacular backdrop of Keppel Bay, it’s the perfect place to soak up some sunshine on the beautiful Capricorn Coast.
Featuring a host of interactive elements including water cannons, jets and a unique umbrella bucket – the only one of its kind in Queensland – the Keppel Kraken is guaranteed fun for the whole family.
The Keppel Kraken is located right in the heart of Yeppoon and just minutes from luxury beach front accommodation, gourmet dining and a thriving retail precinct. Experience all the Capricorn Coast has to offer – and it will only be a few minutes’ drive from home.
MARINA
Keppel Bay Marina is a short drive away at Rosslyn Bay. It is a hub for boating enthustiasts. It is also the gateway to Great Keppel Island.

We are becoming our own self-sufficient mini-city – we have a Bunnings – the essential stop for all home enthusiasts. We have an array of specialty stores, including carpeting, tiles, mowers and blowers, timber yards and landscaping suppliers, nurseries and garden décor. If you need it, you’ll find it in Yeppoon.

Yeppoon boasts 2 air-conditioned shopping centres with ample parking, so doing the weekly groceries is a breeze. Quality specialty retailers complement the major chains, and you can stop in to get a massage or your nails done too.
